Let Lomax Media transfer all of your standard 8, single 8 and super 8 film and slides memories to DVD.
General Information: The various formats of 8mm and 16mm film vary in length and we can fit no more than 2 hours of footage on a DVD. If your footage is longer than this we would split it onto multiple DVD's.
As a general guide: The following table is a rough guide to help you assess approximately how much footage you have and how long the actual running time is. Times will vary depending on the Frames Per Second of the original filming.
Conversion to DVD : We do not use the "Worlds Most Advanced Frame by Frame Scanning" as boasted by many other duplication providers. Why?
For starters, most people can't afford it and if you have audio on your film, this method cannot capture the sound track. Secondly, it is old film we are converting. Whilst we can make it look like a DVD we can buy at the store today, the warm fuzzy feeling we get from the look of old film, and if required, the sound of the projector clicking over in the background is part of the whole experience. All of our finished DVD's have an Opening page with Menu options and are chaptered. How we do it: We capture the film digitally through a specialised telecine unit.
This gets rid of the fuzzy edges, provides a good quality image and allows us to add titles and music and do some editing (if requested). We can even put the sound of the old projector on the DVD to give it that "authentic" sound! There is a basic minimum fee which covers up to 15 minutes of film transferred to DVD which includes your DVD, background music, opening title, on disc printing and DVD case. There after, the more you have done, the cheaper it becomes. Phone or e-mail us for a quote. Want to Edit Your Own Movies and Make Your Own DVD's: We can provide your captured footage as AVI files on DVD that will allow you to copy the AVI files onto your computer and edit them yourselves.
